For Polly's VSN Challenge to be inspired by one of the fabric samples
I was inspired by the first choice by the blooms with multiple petals and the leaves. I went looking for a flower stamp with many petals and saw this set. Inside the case was a pre-stamped flower that was already colored in purples, with sparkly Stickles in the centers. I had to use it. When I went to add the sentiment, the stamp with ink on it popped off the acrylic block and dropped on the paper. Uggg! So I stamped the flower again, watercolored the leaves and fussy cut the purple flower to place on top. Fortunately the dropped stamp did not land on the bloom. I made sure it was securely placed on the block the second time! The card base looked plain and I wanted to add something as fabric has a lot of texture. I used a stamp in the set to create a border top and bottom. Then I mixed shimmer paint with white acrylic and swiped that across the card. It is subtle but shimmers so pretty when the light catches it. Lastly, I stamped speckles in black. The panel was die-cut, matted and popped up. Terrific challenge. TFL

I hate when that happens! Oh Diane I feel for you. You went on though and created a wonderful card with your new overlaid flower...so pretty. I like the mixed media treatment in the bg. Thanks for playing!

Diane, this is beautiful and I really like your idea of mixing shimmer paint with white acrylic and then swiping it across the background layer!
