For Polly's Celebrate Spring MIXed media challenge. I took the colours of the early spring flowers - and forsythia. I saw a spike of it standing up over a wall on the way to work yesterday or the day before.
The background is using Dina's Coffee Filter Prints tutorial. I made a few this morning, and the filters are still spread out all over the place drying, as they can be used as well as the photo paper pieces. I used green and blue Brusho powders. Then I used dry wall mesh and stencilled on some white paint. Stamped a few textures from Timeless Textures in black and brown, and an HA script stamp in green. The sentiment was stamped several times to get it good and dark. I also added some Enamel Accent dots after cutting the rectangle, to add more texture.
The forsythia was cut from generic coloured card. The stem is florists' wire bound with brown florists' tape. I added a tiny twine bow, and put Stickles in the centres of all the flowers. I dry embossed the base with the same stitched rectangle before mounting the panel. Only problem with this is it's got to be hand delivery or in a package, but it was fun to make.

Sabrina, this is such a beauty. I love the use of the dry wall mesh and those wonderful Brushos. I got mine out this week and really did not like what I did with mine so the trash can got it. Ugh I have seen forsythia's blooming here, too. Love the idea that spring is here.

Amazing bg with all the texture on the coffee filter! Those forsythias are so pretty...beautiful dimension. So what if you have to hand deliver this..you'd want someone special to receive it ;)

"LOVE"...what a breathe of Springtime and HOPE, mdf.
Of course, reading your design process is such a treat. I can just imagine a spray of forsythia peaking over the wall at you. This was the first Springtime blooming shrub I taught the boys to recognize. Okay, side tracked.
A really beautiful card with depth and grace. Fav'd.

Forsythia is blooming where I live....such a sign of spring, Sabrina. Your dimensional forsythia is magnificent! Love the blue/green/white bg you created for it.
