I needed two sympathy cards recently....two different friends lost their moms within days of each other. I'm a little late in sending cards...with everything else going on in our world right now.
I fell in love with this card that I found on Pinterest....Melissa's card....https://www.pinterest.com/pin/326229566762467792/ Melissa has all the measurements on her blog. I decided to use it as a sympathy card. Putting the words on the inside from the Love & Sympathy set (now retired). I changed the colors a little....she used Mossy Meadows and Cajun Craze. I toned it down with the Old Olive and Really Rust (retired)...plus it was what I had!!!
I did the words on the front first with Sierra Sand. Came back with the Old Olive vine stamp. Used the second stamping to get a lighter image. Then put the decorative band with the Really Rust. Used the Versamark ink with the Timeless Textures (small dots) on the corners and spots that needed a little extra. Used my gold embossing powder...heat set that. Then did Versamark ink around the edge...only brushing two sides at a time...then gold embossing powder....heat set. Repeat for the other sides. Versamark used for the butterfly....gold embossing. Did a fussy cut with the butterfly...couldn't find my punch quickly enough! I then brushed the Old Olive ink on the card base of the card. Old Olive is cut 4 1/4" x 11". On the inside...I did the Old Olive vine first ink...then second ink.
These will go out in the mail letting friends know that we are thinking of them during their stressful times.
Thanks for looking!
