I made this card for last week's Teapot Tuesday challenge. Jen is our hostess and she has a wonderful challenge called "Coffee Party!" So fun! The recipient of this party really paid it forward in a big way so even if you cannot make a card, read the story because it will warm your heart through and through.
I have to be honest here, I could not come up with a coffee card to save my soul. I have coffee stamps and dies, but no inspiration at all. This beautiful doily was gifted to me by a dear friend so I wanted to use this somehow. Coloring this coffee cup image with copic markers helped, then the card went pretty quickly after that.
The linen white wash cardstock has some texture to it that I really like so I decided to emboss it, then I took a SU Creamy Caramel ink pad and ran it lightly over the raised areas for some added color. Stamped the sentiment, added some W1 copic marker around the edges to tone down the white, then added it to the scalloped piece I die cut out of the teal background floral stamped piece. In the end, this card was a whole lot of fun to make.
Thank you for this terrific challenge Jen and thanks for looking! ~Karen.

I Love the antiqued look of your ef, Karen....it's so beautiful, but the swiping of the caramel just adds to its elegance! What a lovely coffee sleeve with the pretty flowers. The doily adds to the feminine charm of this coffee card~

This coffee sleeve almost makes me want to drink coffee....ugh. That will not happen because I can't stand the taste. I do love the smell, though. Your sleeve is just beautiful and I like how you used that pretty doily. Wonderful embossing folder, too.
