I just finished my latest bunch of cards for Send a Smile 4 Kids. One of the requests was cards for young children, with large images. What better for a large image than a dinosaur?
I sized the image in Photoshop to match the main panel in the sketch, then printed it on vellum bristol. I used my Prismacolor pencils to color the dino, and added a light grey shadow to ground him. I also went over the eyes with a black glaze pen to help them pop.
I adhered a panel of purple cardstock to my white card base. I wrapped 3 lengths of baker's twine around the lower part of a mint green cardstock panel, and adhered that to my card. Finally, I added foam tape to the back of the image panel, being careful to avoid the area where the twine would go behind it. I adhered that panel, and that finished this card. Super easy to pull together, and will hopefully bring a young child a smile!
