This card is for our TeaPotter Challenge this first Tuesday of March. Our recipient loves purple and blue, birds and nature, and music.
I had a head start with Technique Junkies Collage Bird stamp. It was stamped with Memento 'Rich Cocoa' and embossed with clear. I sprinkled Brushos in random spots, using a paint brush to spread the color where I wanted it. Then I took a paper towel to remove color as well. I used four mixed media embossing powder on the bird, hearts and the berries. It was tricky getting it in just the right spot! I used micro mini beads on the purple berries.
I thought the piece needed a window...with the sun coming up, a wee bit of encouragement! The window is from Green Pepper Press. It was embossed and fussy cut.
The string of hearts were stamped directly to paper and embossed with two mixed media metallics.
I added a couple of scrap Music Notes Tim Holtz Washi to symbolize a long friendship. And the quote from Longfellow was inked with Stazon on acetate.
And the song from beginning to end
I found in the heart of a friend.
Staples, of course.
I really love how this turned out. It was a challenge for me, though, as I have moved to more CAS design, but I was inspired and that always helps.
Thanks for popping in!

What an awesome (CAS?) collage! Love your combination of art supplies on this and the symbolism of the different elements. The placement of the quote is inspired ..love how it becomes part of the design.

AWESOME sentiment!! and I love the way your bird seems to be yearning to get closer to that sunshine. Beautiful blend of colors with the softly stamped elements in the bg.

You did a great job adding the embossing powder, the bird is instantly recognisable. And I'm betting the microbeads look great as berries, I know you work magic with them - Soul Paintings is still on my piano. Love that window and the imaginative possibilities it offers
