This is mostly for today's MMTPT for my good friend Kris. We spent a lot of time together while in college, music warriors, crying in the practice room (mostly her), me accompanying her on piano for her voice performances, hanging out. She was my maid of honor when I got married. Even though she's lived out of state since she got married (I played for her wedding), we can pick up where we left off. She really needs some love these days.
I took one of Joggles art parts, which are wc paper, and did an emboss resist with white ep and DOx inks. A bit of water sprinkled on too. I used a stencil in gray inks, an embossed in blue feather (same as on the bird), washi tape and some vintage purple rick rack. Sentiment in blue finishes it off. I want her to lean on me.
Has anyone ever gotten a stencil cut??? Ooh does that sting. Worse than a paper cut.

This card is so artistic! I love the background, and the feather stenciled parts especially. Beautiful bird. I have never had a stencil cut, but it sounds painful. Thanks for the lovely card!

Love the colors on your bird and the white embossed feather just adds a dainty laciness to the entire card. The random bars of color to the left add lots of interest and you had the perfect sentiment for a long time friend in need.

What a wonderful collage, with all the different textures and elements. I especially love the embossing on your bird. It's a yes to a stencil cut...I feel your pain LOL. I hope your dear friend enjoys all our paper hugs Jean.

Oh, was there a feather on the base of the other one? On the way to work so I'm probably not going to go back and check. The bird looks great in those colours. What beautiful washi, one of them makes me think of Van Gogh's Starry Night.
A stencil cut, ouch. No, I'm glad to say I've never had one.

Wow Jean! I love this gorgeous card you made for your friend Kristine and I know she will cherish it too. The embossed feather on your sponged bird just blew me away it is so pretty. I also love the feather stamped in the tree branches and the wonderful use of this vintage purple ric rac and washi tape. I am impressed! ~Karen.
