Oh, yes...it's time again for the VSN warm up...stretch those creative muscles and check out the mini Florapalooza VSN chat! My card here is for Lee's (LuvLee) Petals of White as well as sliding up the grayscale with Joyce (ashjoy), who asked us to create a card using a grayscale. This is for the Clean and Simple challenge 03/02/20.
I started by selecting my WHITE flower. I couldn't resist the bane of most gardeners...that gorgeous blossom of the Dandelion! What child can resist or adult for that matter, blowing them to the wind and wishing...oh the wishing! The Thoreau quote encourages me to really focus on each season and live fully. I fussy cut outside my diecut to lift the dandelion above the label. Stamped some additional seed heads around the quote and a reminder how they float on the wind. It was matted to a My Mind's Eye patterned paper with another lovely shade of gray and white. The base layer was stenciled with three botanicals to represent other seasons through the year. I've got Wisteria, Jungle big leaves, and Maple seed 'wings' as well. Finished off with a tiny grey ribbon and a irregular heart.
Hope you'll find the time to check out the VSN Mini...three challenges to get you in the groove...all Florapalooza worthy! Thanks for visiting my garden on paper today. Always your comments are dear to my heart.

I will attempt this tomorrow. We shouldn't dislike dandelions so much, they and bees make the perfect team. Gray is my favorite neutral and your very calming card is a perfect example.

You fussy cut a Dandelion! You are creating magic with your precision specialty scissors, dear neighbor. You captured the sentiment perfectly with your artful interpretations. Sending spring-like sunshine your way.

Your message is one we all need to ponder and then live by. It caused me to think a little deeper about the seasons; not just the 4 seasons, but also the seasons of life itself. Love what you've done with the grays, Susan~
*My poodle, Autumn Loves to chomp on dandelions when they have seeded! Craziest thing to me, but she eats them up when we go walking~

This card caught my eye with it's mono colours and because of the Thoreau quote. I love anything Henry David Thoreau, I have pages of his quotes and essays.
