Today we are exploring the Japanese art of Kintsugi (the Japanese art of repairing Broken pottery with gold to make them even more precious).
I do have quite a few pottery stamps but they seemed both too small and too "busy" for the vision in my head. So I grabbed a piece of Midnight glitter (a slate colored cardstock imbedded with tiny gold flecks). I used the SB Curved edge to die cut a simple vase shape. I drew in the lip of the vase with a black sharpie and added white gel pen to soften the inside area that peeked out, then randomly stamped the floral spray in frost white. I tried several options for adding the gold vein "repairs" from Angelina fibers to gold cording but finally settled on textured gold cardstock that I free form cut with a scissors. I wanted a few shatter cracks too, and used bits of gold die cut tree limbs for those. I stamped my card base in moss green lemon verbena leaves, adhered the vase with a chunk of fun foam and scor-tape. Finished with a gold embossed and fussy cut sentiment.

Linda your hand cut vase is wonderful...the stamping on it is perfect..I'd like to have a real one in this design. How clever to use some die cuts for the smaller veins. The stamped leaves in the bg are a perfect contrast to the darker vase.

I would like to put in an order for one of these impressive vases - no doubt I would be in a queue for one though. Love the indigo coloured vase with the blossoms and gold branches.

Had to fav this before I landed in the comment section! I wanna say, 'Linda' get out!!! In my very best, .
The depth, the movement of the metallic strips, the colors...wonderful! Instead of a vase, though, I saw a very shapely lady with a pretty cross hatched bodice.

Love the shape of your vase. And the colour. So clever to use the tree die for your cracks. Angelina fibres, that would have looked nice, I think. I've never seen it in gold.
