In medicine, a zebra is a condition that’s rarely seen, so medical students are told, “when you hear hoofbeats think of a horse,” not the much rarer zebra. But twice we’ve had a cat with a rare medical problem. Our veterinarian, when discussing options with us after we took Thad to an oncologist, turned to me and said, “You’ve got a zebra.”
I sent this “grateful” card to her and her staff for the wonderful care they took of Thaddy cat when he had to have his eye removed. Sorry it’s hard to see the word “grateful” at the bottom!
Insides I wrote, “Zebras are beautiful” along with my heartfelt thanks.
P.S. Thad is doing great; likelihood of cancer spreading is quite low.
