Cards this week are for Sharon who unfortunately has broken both wrists! That has to be the worst kind of punishment for a crafty person. But knowing what a strong bunch of people we are all are there will be lots of ways of getting around two broken wrists.
Today is the first day that I have been able to sit down and concentrate long enough to actually start a card from scratch and finish it. It is a great feeling to achieve something again. So many distractions over the past few months.
For this card I used some water coloured background panels from my stash. I die cut the map of Australia - not forgetting little Tasmania using a Paper Rose die. The little koala and her baby are from Unity Stamps who are donating from this stamp set to a wildlife group who are looking after injured animals here after the horrendous fires. I used a water colour panel to again die cut out the map and inlaid the first one into it. Stamped and coloured Mum Koala and Baby and fussy cut them out. Stamped a gum tree image around the edges of the card using oxide inks. The card was then framed in dark brown, green and finally put on a kraft card.
This card will go in the mail this week and will probably take a long, long time to arrive from very, very far away.
Hope you enjoy.

This is so special Helen. I love the sunburnt map and your koalas are precious. I'm so glad that you could finally enjoy making a card, you have all been through so much. Stay safe.

So super to see a card from you, Helen. I know the fires and heat cannot have helped anything. Your koala looks much more tempting here on your card than when I looked at the Unity site . I absolutely love the way you have stamped the gum tree round to frame your map (which makes me think of a song DH sings about "the land of red dust").

What a lovely card using the Unity stamp! I have the same stamp but haven’t used it yet. Your card is just so cute! Glad to have you back in the gallery!
