Polly is hosting this weeks teaparty for a very special Splitcoastie and scrapbooking guru.....Sharon Madson aka smadson.
Sharon broke BOTH of her wrists, so we are sending paper hugs along with happy snaps and places of interest. I have depicted Uluru (formerly known as Ayers Rock), this ancient rock transforms from ochre to burnished orange and intense red at sunrise and sunset.
Have you ever wondered what the blunt end of a Copic is good for...this background was done in a few quick minutes using glossy photo paper and the blunt end of blue, red and green Copics. To add depth and shade I used the blunt end of a few grey Copics over the top of the red and green areas.
These cute digi images are by Crissy Armstrong at Whimsy Stamps. Whimsy are generously donating all the proceeds to the Bush Fire appeal for animals. The set can be foundHERE
The Kangaroo and Emu are on Australia's coat of arms (and we eat them LOL). Australia has a population of 25 million people and 55 million kangaroos. Fun fact - kangaroos cannot move backward.
Emu's are sort of like an Ostrich, but smaller. They are cranky birds with a bad attitude, that's probably because they can't fly!
Koalas are utterly adorable, but never set a tent up under a koala, they snore like a drunken sailor!
Thank you for looking and I hope you get a chance to send Sharon a paper hug.

Susie, I love your story about the animals. I didn't know that about kangaroos or the snoring koalas. I must say that you made these animals a brilliant background. The colors are awesome! Love the card, Susie!

Oh my goodness - you had me laughing with your retrospective on Australian animals. I've eaten Ostrich and assume Emu is quite a bit the same. But now I'm wondering if I can substitute Kangaroo tail in my recipes that call for Alligator tail ?!?! lol That vibrant bg seems to have captured some of the glow from the outlying fires so hope your cuties stay safe.
