I had this piece of felted cs in my stash for several years, from a jmaraul (Joyce Marshall) background swap. I loved the piece, but never made anything out of it. Recently, I had 3 stamping buddies over to play with scraps and bits we'd accumulated, and see what we could make out of things any of us had. Connie had this holograph circle in her stash, and she was willing to let me use it- same sort of situation- she'd held on to it for at least a couple years, but never used it. It went beautifully with the felted background. I trimmed the background panel to fit my typical A9 card, layered it onto gold metallic cs, then onto the black background.Used a strip that I'd cut off (also layered onto gold cs) across the bottom of the card. Added the holographic circle, with a brown irridescent gem in the center. Added 4 little black gems to the corners of the gold layer of the main panel. IRL this looks even richer and more elegant! Turns out, a freind's mother just passed away, so I stamped a sympathy sentiment inside and will mail this out shortly.
I considered this serendipitous because 2 of us held onto lovely bits until we happened to come together and the bits "found" each other. Also, it's a perfect sympathy card, and I "just happened" to make it right before I needed one.
