Our dear Angie (ohmypaper!) is Featured Stamper today. I pretty much wanted to CASE all of her cards. They are amazing and so memorable. So I knew exactly which one I wanted to CASE--but then I found this one on the way to the one I was looking for and realized it was perfect inspiration for this card that I am so sad to have to make.
Teapotters may remember the tea party we had for Finn, the little boy who had just finished his chemo treatment. Sadly, the cancer came back and he passed away last week. Is there anything more difficult to make than a sympathy card for the passing of a child? I just can't make a regular "grown up" kind of sympathy card. It needs just enough of a boyish touch to it. I used to make Batman cards to send to Finn, so I wanted a city skyline with The Bat Signal on the moon. I loved the purple sky of Angie's card and the thick framing and that's what helped me make this incredibly difficult card.

Oh Jen, my heart is breaking. I am so sorry to hear about Super Finn. This card is so perfect for a sympathy card for his family. What a true super hero he was to so many.

Oh dear. So sad. Of course I remember making cards for him. This card is perfect to send to them.

This is so heartbreaking, Jen. Finn really was a brave superhero and I think that this sweet card will bring some comfort to his family. I will keep them in my prayers.

Tears are falling, Jenn, and I thank you for making this beautiful card and letting us know about Master Finn. I know this quote and it so comforting. "Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.”

Oh, Jen.....but your magnificent card will be treasured! And possibly a salve for the family. I luv your card. The beginning of the gorgeous quote is my favorite to use for sympathy cards.
(((((Much love sent out into the heaven’s for Finn’s family)))))
