I have been absent from splitcoast for a while. This new season of life has shifted my focus and art has taken a bit of a back seat. I did grab my art bag on my babysitting day and put this art journal page together. I started with the gelatin print that used some neutrals and a hexagon stencil. I used my Prismacolor ebony to add some depth. I then raided my envelope of "stuff" and started to collage pieces on. I tore the lighthouse piece and added pencil and smudging instead of color. With the red piece of paper added, I decided to add some red ink to the bg gel print using a petal ink and smudging with my finger. I used a stencil and modeling paste to add FAITH and then wrote my Scripture verse in the ebony pencil going over it a few times. I have really grown to love collage, especially with found pieces of crusty metal bits (I embarrass my kids by picking up trash along walks)

Well I'm glad you said that you have been missing for a while because I was worried that I was missing you and you had been around. So good to see you back and I hope you keep coming back. This is just wonderful, I fav'd it. So much to look at. Collage is where you live, I think. I too pick up things or keep things, just in case......'just in case' could be never never land.

WOW this is amazing! I love the stenciled gel print bg and your bits and pieces of torn papers. You have some wonderful texture on this with the Faith word and the "crusty" metal bits. I'm so glad you were able to play today Gail!
