I haven't worked with my alcohol inks in months. I feel like I need a lot of space to do so and my work surface in the basement is small and it's a bit chilly down there. Even with a space heater, sometimes inks and adhesives don't work well. My dining table since Thanksgiving has been given over to eating (but of course), gift wrapping, card addressing and anything else necessary. It was nice to spread out the craft sheet and make a mess.
I did some ai backgrounds yesterday, used one for my IC and then started this painting. I have never painted with ai before, but watched a video of a local ai artist (Beth Kluth) and was inspired to try an actual painting with ai. I wasn't finished with it so based on this card of Patricia's, I was able to finish it. CAS428 Love You in Bright Colors by pawilliams at Splitcoaststampers
I used similar colors and flowers but otherwise, not much the same. I used the washi to mask off for the vase, which was made by dripping some blue ai and blending solution until I liked what I got. Apparently ai messes with the adhesive on painters or masking tape, so washi is best. I used some brushes to manipulate the ink. I used the felt to make the smaller flowers and top of an empty Keurig-type cup to place mark the larger flowers. Yes, Jean, purple and yellow will make mud, so I had to do a lot of adjusting of the big flowers. I painted the leaves and tendrils with two greens and added a lot of dots everywhere. You can see that sometimes you get colors where you don't want them; that's what abstract is all about. I'm pleased with this for a first attempt. I'm happy to see Nancy 'chairing' the FS. Hi, Nancy.

FRAME IT! I absolutely adore this and will never tire of looking at its comple beauty. The colors are amazing and it's balanced so well despite being a technique that is so unpredictable. Sure hope you'll make more ai paintings. Totally Fav'd!

Jean, you made a fabulous bouquet of flowers using alcohol inks! It appears that creating this would take a lot of precision and patience. You did an outstanding job on it!
