You know how it is to have a famous relative or ancestor? Well Peter R. da Vinci, the great-great-great-great-great grandson of Leonardo has tried to follow in his ancestors paint strokes for years but without a lot of success. He finally decided to have a go at Leonardo's iconic painting, the Mona Lisa. He was able to convince Mona Lisa celebrity impersonator, Midge Lackluster, to pose for him. As you can see Midge is getting on Peter's nerves...she keeps moving, talking, and heaven forbid smiling
The idea for this first of all was to use the painting bunny and then I had to think of something for him to paint. I actually have several Mona Lisa stamps (can you believe it? Of course I do)..none of them were going to work...too big. I then remember some stickers my sister got me at The Louvre and one happened to be Mona. Well it was the top half of her...luckily she fit perfectly on the Rubbermoon stamp of a lady sitting in a chair eating chocolates. You can kind of see the box of chocolates just under the lamp...oh and I had a small ink smudge just under the lamp so I drew in a chain. Thanks for looking!

Brilliant! And the "Be still" made me giggle. I just love your painting bunny, and the big paint tube as the stopper for the easel - it reminds me of the old ones that the large size of Winsor & Newton oil paints came in. How serendipitous that you had a genuine Mona from Paris when none of your stamps were going to work.

Ohhhh Pol, I didn't want your story to end. What a hoot! Every itty bitty inch of this is fabulous. This is living proof that Mona should have worn a spotted skirt at the original sitting with Leo. The lamp complete with chain is terrific - gosh everything is terrific. I smile and grin every time I scroll back. I read your description to Geoff he got a good chuckle too.
Please don't take your organs to heaven - heaven knows we need them here.

OMGosh...I am just grinning, giggling, and smiling non-stop! Love, love, love your back story...such a entertaining piece of creative writing...you must have gotten an "A" in that course! Love the vintage to animated caricatures features on your card and weren't you lucky by chance to have the perfect stamp replacement straight from France! Love the bright and cheery colors and your decorative brick floor. Mona must have been a trendy fashionista in her day...way ahead of her time in that polka dot skirt! Got to go to my FAVs!
