I have been creating cards for the Live Like Roo card drive that I heard about on Jennifer McGuire's YouTube channel & blog. The cards are for an organization, Live Like Roo, that helps with families whose pets (primarily dogs) are going through cancer. The woman who runs it sends a card with each care package, so the drive is to get as many handmade cards to give to her for that as possible. My personal goal is to make 10 cards. The stated deadline is December 15, though apparently that is a bit flexible.
I began by sizing the image in Photoshop. The image has a greeting (Sorry it's been "ruff"), but I wanted it to say "get well soon." So I selected just the greeting in the image & deleted it. Then I typed my greeting, & added a pawprint I drew with the Custom Shape tool. Finally I printed it on a piece of watercolor paper.
I used my watercolors to paint the image. Once it was dry, I rounded the upper right & lower left corners with the 1/4" side of my Corner Chomper. I adhered a strip of patterned paper from my scrap stash to the left side of a kraft cardstock panel, and added my image panel butted up against that strip. I finished by mounting it to a white card base.
