Sorry, Polly. He needed a red hat. Also, I hope gray paper and markers are OK for a black and white challenge. This was hard!! I was going to make a classy black and white card using these nice wood stickers that I picked up at Target the other day. But you know how much I struggle with classy. I went looking through my stamps for some sort of Christmas greenery to deck the halls for Dawn's challenge and landed on this grouchy bird. That's when my card took a turn. I decided that I would try my hand at grayscale coloring (holy cow, it's hard!) and I colored the bird in with just grays, a white colored pencil, and a white gel pen. I printed him out on gray paper because I wanted to cover the card with white Enamel Accents snow and I wanted it to show up. The wood sticker was sponged with Memento ink and then added Black Diamond Stickles. I was thinking of using the "Merry" sticker, but went with "Believe" so I could include the inside sentiment of "Remember: When you stop believing in Santa Claus, you get underwear."
I may be hard to find today--I'm on the lam from the challenge police...

The red hat really jumped out of your grayscale card. (It took every fiber of my being NOT to add a narrow red frame around my black panel, so I know from whence you're coming) You did a marvelous job on your black & white coloring.

Oh you rogue you!!! That red hat jumped out at me right away....grrrrr....If it weren't a holiday weekend and if your card weren't so darn cute, the challenge police would be at your door right now (they do know where you live!) .
This is really adorable.....you did a great job with the grayscale, and the enamel dot snow. I love his grouchy expression!
