Happy Thanksgiving Week everyone! I'm hosting this week's color challenge: Pretty Peacock + Lovely Lipstick + Crushed Curry with, what else, but Pumpkin Pie for dessert. While I've chosen to use the color Pumpkin Pie, I encourage you to interpret dessert however you choose!
I have a few preview things on my stamping desk this week so it was hard not to use these dies for my card. I initially looked up images of a Christmas rose to see what the botanical color is, mostly whitish with pinks at the center though a few are brighter, Well, my whitish rose looked more like a piece of peppermint candy than a rose so I decided stick with the brighter shades.
I couldn't resist trying these colors out on a blended background done with reinkers and white craft ink and my trusty sponge daubers. I added the neutral Mossy Meadow but you could easily mix Crushed Curry and Pretty Peacock to get something similar.
I used the dies with a mix of colored cardstock and white that I colored with sponge daubers. I thought I might create a Christmas Greenery look by layering the finer leaves but it didn't really look the best. Thus this looks a lot more tropical than Christmasy - Ah, well. My thought of a card that might be used for someone who has a hard time during the holidays still works...
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving if you celebrate it where you live! Wherever you are I hope you can join us in the gallery.

Chris, I loved your color choices this week and I also how you used them to make this luscious mini bouquet, along with the wonderful blended background. At least for me, often times what I initially plan morphs into something else, so I love how yours turned into this stunning card of encouragement!

Well this is just lovely! That blended side panel is amazing and really highlights the gorgeous flowers. Just such a pretty card! It's featured on SCS Facebook!
