I had recently purchased the beautiful "Peaceful Dove" stamp set from W Plus 9, so this was my first card using it. Lots of layers in the set!
After stamping the 5-layer dove, I used the pretty 2-layer branch stamps to create an olive branch for him to sit on.
Both dove and branch required careful alignments, so I used my Stampin' Up! (SU) Stamparatus to make perfect layers.
The background of the card front is made using the Lawn Fawn "Stitched Hillside Borders" die. This is perfect for hills, snowbanks, or any other place where you need a rolling background.
The gold foil mat for the dove was die-cut using the SU "Layering Ovals" die set, as was the "peace" sentiment.
The white circle and gold mat were glued together, then glued to the card front. The dove was mounted with foam tape to raise him up off the card surface.
I think this will make a nice Christmas card this year. I am rating it's difficulty as a "2" out of a possible "5" since I had to hand cut the dove (I didn't buy the matching die set). I used my Brother Scan N Cut CM350 to cut out the branches after I had stamped them. If you don't have the dies or a digital cutter that also scans, the difficulty goes up to a "3" because you will need to hand cut all the leaves on the branches.
