Anita has a lovely Falliday challenge to use trees on our cards. I proceeded to really complicate this challenge in my attempt to make an inside shadow box card (as Jennifer McGuire - who makes it look easy, I might add - calls it). Here is the link to her post: https://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2...-giveaway.html
I will not tell you how many pieces of cardstock were harmed in the making of this card! It was certainly a challenge for me and it looked like it should be so easy! I guess I should have had my engineering brained husband there to help me!
The easy part was the front done in Shaded Spruce. I sponged Shaded Spruce around the tree for a bit of highlight. See those diagonal corners? That was plan B as plan A went awry.
I thought I followed Jennifer's instructions but, obviously, kept making errors. However, I kept at it until this is my final result. I fussy cut the card insides and attached them to different parts of the shadow box for dimension. I colored the houses with Copics, sponged the sky with Soft Sky and stamped the snowflake with White Craft ink. It is quite subtle in the background.
I don't think it is quite right yet, but I'm done! I did have fun adding the Christmas lights to the blue house and the wreath to the other house. It was a little challenging to get a good photo as it isn't terribly bright out today.
Thanks for the challenge, Anita, and thanks for looking!

That's a pretty shadow box framed card, I've made already some like those I think there's a tutorial here on SCS too, I love your inside with the fun houses and the added details, and I love the front with this white embossed tree and Santa against your green bg, great job!!

Ooh, that white embossed tree with the shaded spruce sponging really caught my eye in the gallery. And what a fun neighbourhood you created in the shadow box. I love it!

Your spruce with Santa sailing by front is very eye catching! Love the white against that pretty green. Kudos to you for attempting and then sticking with the shadow box insides. It looks great! That design scares me and I've never yet tried one though they look amazing. Beautiful little street scene at Christmas time!
