This card very much depicts the holiday in a different climate to mine. I live in East Texas, where in the 41 years my family & I have been here, has had only one white Christmas. We just don't see snow often, and like I said, almost never at Christmastime.
I opened the image in Photoshop. I created a blank "canvas" as well, the size of the main panel in the sketch. I copied the image onto my canvas, and sized it to fit. Then I printed it out onto a panel of watercolor paper that I'd cut to size.
I used my watercolors to paint the image. The only really difficult part was painting the sky, specifically trying to get an even gradated wash. It's not perfect, but I think it's good enough. (I'm still working on that skill overall.) The main thing that made it difficult in this case was having to paint around all the critters, snowball stack, & tree.
I cut two 1x1/4" pieces of red cardstock. After I added double-sided tape to the back of my focal panel, I adhered the strips to that, leaving about 3/8" hanging out from the edges of the panel. I matted my main panel with a green cardstock piece, and trimmed off the overhanging parts of the red strips. I mounted that to a brown card front that I'd adhered to my card base. I squirted a little liquid glue under the red bits to stick them down securely. I added Bright Gold Nuvo drops to the bells on the reindeer's collar, and that finished this card. Even with the watercoloring--which took about 2 hours or so--it was a pretty easy card to pull together.

Oh my goodness I love this image and your great coloring. I would love less snow but alas I am in a very snowy part of the country. Beautiful card for the challenge.
