I'm hosting my first CAS challenge today and it's an alphabet challenge with the letter F. Stop by and check out the challenge post to find out why....
This card is for my best friend, Dave, who turned 40 this weekend. I was stumped for what to do for his 40th birthday card, but then I got an idea in my head for the card to mention something that everyone our age remembers. And, yes, we all remember the episode of Punky Brewster where they were playing hide and seek and Punky's friend Cherie hid in the fridge and almost died, but nobody younger than us would remember. And so the inside says "That's because you're old." I hope he likes it.
As you can see my "F" is for Fridge and implicitly it's also for Forty. LOL.
I printed the fridge and the sentiment on kraft cardstock and traced over everything with my new black glaze pen (where has this thing been all my life and why haven't any of you told me about it?). Then I simply painted the fridge white and drew in the grass. I was hoping to get the look of a fridge that had been sitting outside with some splotchy painting of white on kraft.
Thanks for looking! I hope you'll join in my challenge today!
Sincerely,
Jennifer Ann Lewis, FCAS

I am not aware of the show you refer to, Jen, but you sure have designed a wonderful, personal card for your BF's birthday! The fridge is coloured so well.

Ha....so fun and a card that sounds perfect for your friend. You really did capture that old fridge that has been outside and unused for a hundred years.

I love your fun design and sure your friend will love it, once my children have put the neighbors' cat in our emergency fridge (a second fridge for cool drinks at summer) they didn't tell me and when I've opened the fridge the cat was still alive and very angry he never came back to our house...

You were kind to not to mention "those much older than I".....I have no idea of the Punky Brewster episode. : ) Cute card for your friend who does remember. Congrats on your new post.
