I made the background for this card on my gel plate. I did it in layers. The first layer, and first print, was done with blues. I used a strip of paper rolled up on its side to make the swirls. I also used a corrugated piece of cardboard to pull up some of the paint. After that first print dried, I used a crumpled up piece of paper dipped in fall colors to go all over my gel plate. I used AUTUMN FALLING stencil by ARTplorations. The sentiments were stamped from several different sets. I cut the words apart to look like a Ransom Note. I used a white gel pen to add some dots. I filled in some spots on the leaves where the print didn't completely fill with colored pencils and watercoloring. I hope you will play along with my Mix-Ability challenge this week.

I love autumn colour on a blue background. I'm amazed you got all that definition on the swirls, I thought they must have been drawn on afterwards. Thanks for such a fun challenge today, MariLynn, it was a thoroughly enjoyable way to wind down after a mad week.
