Todayâs tea party is for the dad of one of my grade school classmates. She reached out to me to say that he has been down in the dumps lately and could use some cheering up. Susie is our hostess today and she has invited us all on a road trip to Lakeville. Youâre all invited to stop by my house for tea on the way.
Of course I was excited for an excuse to make a fishing card today and I decided to finally use this paper pad that Iâve had since I took up scrapbooking at least fifteen years ago. This fisherman bear is paper pieced. The bits were all separately printed out on a sheet, so I just took the sheet and scanned it through my ScanNCutâany guess why I never actually cut this out before I got my ScanNCut? I stuck him all together, but left off his fishing pole because it just didnât look right to me. Instead, I stuck a fish in his bucket, which I labeled with âWorldâs Greatest Fisherman Danâ. I used my address guide template and Crayola Supertip to hand-letter my favorite fishing sentiment. Then I created a faux wood grain sign post for the sign, a ground for him to walk on and die cut one little cloud to finish the scene. I also took Susieâs challenge of decorating the envelope and used another piece of the DP from that pad to make an envelope. Anyone have any experience with mailing patterned envelopes? How is the USPS going to feel about this?

This is so darn cute with your paper pieced bear....I love that you personalized it for Dan. I haven't made any envelopes out of dp so can't comment on that....I do often stamp it with some coordinating images though.

What a cute card this is for Dan. I'll have tea, of course! Keep the water hot! Hugs, mf.

This is so adorable and gorgeous, Jen! The scene is wonderful, especially the "fisherbear". It's great that you added Dan's name onto the pail of fish. I'm sure he will be delighted with the card!

WooooHoooo, I don't know what to mention first....your fabulous personalised card for Dan, the cutest (and best dressed) bear ever, your terrific writing, or the invitation to call into your house for tea on the way to Dan's. Thanks for letting us know about Dan and I hope he loves our Teaparty.

Oh about the envelope. Helen (helekins) makes fabulous envelopes with DP and simply writes the address on a white paper rectangle. In Australia, we put the senders address on the back of the envelope, again Helen uses a white rectangle.
I have received several DP envelopes from Teapotters in America, they have had large white mailing labels attached to the front.
