Jeanne is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us a challenging but gorgeous color combination: Terra Cotta Tile, So Saffron and Bermuda Bay. The dessert option this week is a side border on your card.
I started out by pressing four colors of Distress Oxide inks onto a craft mat, spraying with water, then smooshing, drying, smooshing. From that panel, I die cut the two flowers and the side border strip. I cut the two stems and two leaf fronds out of Bristol Paper, then used a blending brush to apply two shades of green.
I tried to get as close to the challenge colors as possible and also to the neutral, Mossy Meadow. I found I needed to combine Rusty Hinge and Fired Brick to create my version of Terra Cotta Tile, and the two green colors to come close to Mossy Meadow.
I arranged my side border and floral bouquet on the de-bossed side of a dry-embossed panel of So Saffron and mounted it on a base card of Terra Cotta Tile. Added "hugs" in Bermuda Bay.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!
