Today's inspiration Site - Burton & Burton - is filled with fun things to stimulate creativity. I finally settled on this adorable cork deer. I really liked his plaid felt scarf but couldn't find even a scrap of plaid ribbon in my stash . . .
I stamped my deer twice - once on scrap stock masking off the striped bow and doodling a cork look into the blank spot. Then colored with prismacolor pencils and fussy cut the cork body. I stamped just the legs & antlers on my white panel. Since I had no plaid ribbon for a scarf, I glued a strip of candy stripe bakers twine down the center of an emerald green ribbon and tied it around my deer's neck Then glued it all to my white panel over the stamped appendages. Inked my sentiment with Ruby pigment ink and embossed with clear powder then edged the panel with gold scalloped lace. Glued my DP to the card base and then added the panel.
OOPS - realized I had forgotten to add in the red Nose on my Rudolph. Got out the Ruby liquid pearls and after 2 perfect test drops on scrap paper moved to add the red nose to my almost finished card. SPLAT! ! ! an air bubble in the nozzle resulted in a splatter the size of Washington D. C. (at least that's how it felt to me) Can anyone guess how many layers of White Acrylic Paint and Gesso it takes to fully cover red - ? ? ? A LOT!! Finally, with trepidation, I put my single drop of liquid Pearls, and while it wasn't the perfect drop I'd hoped for, I'm not messing with this any more.

Linda...I always enjoy reading your back stories! SPLAT!!! don't we all share your pain here on that front. I love your card, it's all in the small things, right? The scarf is fab...love the dimension and the cute theme. The diagonal strips are especially well done.
