For Jeanne's Painty Die-cuts MIXed media challenge. Since I often watercolour mine, I challenged myself to mix it up a bit. I went back to Dina's tutorial for the Tape Roll Trinket Box, because I had loved how the embossing and sanding worked on that.
So, I started out by cutting my dress form from chipboard and adding a few coats of gesso and one of white acrylic. When that was dry, I stamped Very Vintage in Versamark and embossed with white EP. I added a couple of coats of blues after masking the top and base and let it dry, then sanded it. So the white is where I sanded the embossing - it's more evident in real life., and is lovely and textural.
This is a big die, so it always results in a big card.
I used the sewing themed ef to emboss some white card, tried adding some stencilling but it didn't work, so I just sponged it. Found some woodgrain DP for the floor - and had to cut a larger piece when this seemed the best sentiment to use - stamped and embossed in white.
I added gold washi tape between the sponged card and the floor paper. Added my dress form, then perched a little butterfly (IO stamp, on vellum, embossed in white, coloured from behind with Sharpies, a little Stickles along the outlines of the wings and gold gel pen on the body) on a shoulder. The form looked a little bare, so I added a necklace - gold cord, two beads and a little wing charm. It had come from New Zealand, from Sunshine, pinned to a little card which read "We are each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing each other". I'd originally meant to use the whole thing on something at some stage, but it's been on my desk too long and the card has been marked.
Now the upper part looked a bit bare, so I die-cut some hollyhocks from DOX on glossy photo paper, and trailed them down, adding Stickles in the centres, and some silver glitter-card butterflies. I edged the top part with white paint and stuck it to a black base.

Wow! This is sooooo impressive Sabrina. Your vision for your cards is just amazing to me. I love this dress maker's scene you have created here. How you used those holly hocks in the background is phenomenal and looks terrific. This sentiment is really special and ties this entire card together so beautifully. ~Karen.
