This card was made for a Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch challenge. The optional theme was an inspiration photo showing a hiking shirt and boots. I decided to go for BOTH of them!
The card base is Stampin' Up! (SU) Tranquil Tide cardstock cut 10"x 7" and folded in half to create a 5"x 7" card.
I started by stamping the tent from SU "Roughing It" retired 1995 stamp set (yes, I'm a stamp hoarder!!!). I stamped it on SU Wild Wasabi cardstock using SU Garden Green ink. After the ink had dried, I used a water brush to smooth the colors and add a bit of shading. I then fussy cut it out with paper snips.
The three hiking related items on the left were then stamped from the same stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink with my stamp positioner so I could stamp each two or three times for a nice dark image. these three were also fussy cut with paper snips. They were stamped onto Kraft cardstock.
The background onto which all four stamped images were mounted with adhesive foam tape was SU Crumb Cake. The panels were each 2-1/2"x 1-1/2" in size. The matting was cut just a little larger than the Crumb Cake panels from Kraft cardstock.
The background for the tent was also Crumb cake cut to 3-5/8"x 4", with the Kraft matting just a little larger.
The four matted panels were glued to the card base using Tombow glue.
The final touch was to add some "climbing rope" between the left and right panels. I used SU Jute Twine that was attached in the middle of the rope using Mini Glue Dots.
I felt this would make a great birthday card for a hunter, camper, or hiker, so added the birthday sentiment from SU "Endless Birthday Wishes" using the dark brown ink again.
This card wasn't all that hard to make once I figured out what I wanted it to look like. The fussy cutting was really easy, so I am rating the difficulty level at a "2" out of a possible "5". It does take some time to make, so keep that in mind.
