Anna's WOOD You Be Mine MIXed media challenge was perfect because I'd been planning to ink up this stamp. I wasn't initially planning to make a Christmas card, I was thinking of putting an owl on it. But it had other ideas.
Embossed the background (finally, at long last, made a label for my embossing folder shoebox with a list of the different sandwiches for the various 3D folders) and sponged with Iced Spruce.
Stamped the tree ring, using several different browns around the bark and repeat stamping. Coloured with an Inktense pencils and cut out.
Stamped the bird, coloured him with watercolour and some pencils.
Then I realised I really needed another medium, so I went for gel print ivy leaves behind my log. Added a Christmas greeting and some glitter snow along the bottom of the card and called it done.

This is so beautiful, Sabrina!!! We had a friend a long time ago who loved cardinals. So every time I see a cardinal, I think of her. Your coloring is exquisite. Thank you for sharing!

Sabrina I don't think you are allowed to go out into the woods, cut down a couple of trees and capture a bird and then call it a card......seriously this is so lifelike and utterly beautiful.

Wow, Sabrina, this is a gorgeous card! The embossed bg I thought was dp, until I read your details, and your tree ring with the ivy and beautiful red cardinal looks fabulous! What a Christmas card!
