This is my rendition of Sweet Jewel's wonderful "Merry Ornaments" card, seen here: TLC752 Merry Ornaments by asweetjewel at Splitcoaststampers. I used the same basic idea but had to modify a bit to use what I had. Instead of outline ornament dies, I "gilded" the edges of my ornaments with gold tinsel embossing powder. I also moved the sentiment to below the ornaments instead of across them. Attempting the paper towel technique had me taking Lydia's "creating for the trash" concept to a whole new level (and reminded me - again - of why I'm allergic to techniques). I'm not as happy with the results as I was hoping, but this is as good as it's getting, so there it is! At least I made the attempt, right?

goodness, gorgeous, gregzgurl! Forgive me, I couldn't resist! This is beautiful. And I love the non traditional colors you used as well as that lovely font for the sentiment.

I'm ecstatic with your results in creating this beautiful card and doubly honored because you were out of your comfort zone to bring this to fruition. The ornaments have a lovely vintage feel with the gilded edges and matte finish that really shows the paper towel technique. Also, the irregular edges between the two colors look like the ornaments were dipped into the red! The script sentiment is perfectly placed. Thank you for being inspired by my gallery today!
