The Clean & Simple Challenge for this week was to use a heart on your card: CAS548 - Show Some Heart - August 26, 2019.
Using a heart theme on a card in February is super easy to do - using that same theme in August is what makes this challenge truly challenging! With that in mind, I used summery colors and images with a natural, organic feel.
The carved heart stamp and die from My Creative Time has been in my stash for a couple of years and has not gotten much use. This was the perfect opportunity to get some use out of it!
I decided to make this an I-Love-You card for my dear hubby. He loves to fly fish, so the leaping trout image from Gina Marie Designs seemed like a good choice since it was the right size for the heart shaped diecut.
The leaf fronds were inspired by a card I saw on a blog. (I will attempt to provide a link to the card at stampingcountry.com after this is uploaded. The blogpost was on May 22, 2018 and the maker used SU Rooted In Nature set for her card.)
Here is the link: https://www.stampingcountry.com/stam...neak-peek.html
I finished the card with a loopy twist of natural colored twine to connect the trout to the heart with the sentiment. Its supposed to mimic the look of a flyline, and of the fish taking the fly. Not sure that a non-fisherman will see that, but I know my hubby will!
Thank you kindly for popping in and looking at my Leaping Trout heart card!
PS. Lots of crazy symbols appeared when I typed the original post for this card, I have no clue why that happened!
In my list of accessories, I incorrectly identified the heart stamp & die set I used. It is not made by Creative Memories, it is form My Creative Time.

Susy this is a wonderful 'guy' card, and I just love the fish on the wood and the line and leaves - it all gives it flavor!! I love it!
