...what fun was had walking down the memory lane of my childhood in the late 50's and 60's, standing in my grandmothers kitchen watching her make tunafish in a beloved turquoise and white cinderella bowl. Turns out just like this one. Stacy, your challenge inspired me to actually make a Cinderella bowl freestyle!
And since this pattern (Hot Air Balloon circa 1958) was in the midst of Mid Century Modern, I wanted to do a card around the patterns of that era. My Cinderella bowl is a Basic Grey 'Konnichiwa' print. The inside is a textured cream speciality paper. I added two different embossing folders that add to the hippy fun. The large chain pattern is a Spellbinders from Tuesday Morning. And the smaller one under the sentiment is from Cuttlebug.
The quote is from Anne Morrow Lindberg,
"When I cannot write a poem, I bake biscuits and feel just as pleased."
Well, I wasn't in the poetry mood this morning, but I did make up a huge batch of my grandmothers' tuna with Mt Olive Sweet Pickle Relish. Please come for a sandwich and a seat in my garden...it's Saturday, time for leisure!
Thanks for stopping by...
I am editing to add that I found the very chip and dip set that is linked at a favorite second hand store. Think is was under $10. Oh, those were the days...like 20 years ago, grin!

What a super story to go along with your inspired card. Love the retro embossing folders you used for texture and the fun thoroughly modern bowl you created. When I first started with SCS, I avoided the IC like the plague - now it's one of my favorite challenges of the week as it allows us such freedom of expression and often as with this card, a walk down memory lane.

Oh, your inspiration really got your creativity flowing by making your own bowl. That is fabulous and I love the sentiment. What a fun, fab card. And, such a great memory you shared with us about your grandmother...sweet memories.

The way you do the paper Mambo always blows my mind with you sense of style and out-of-the-Corningware-box creativity. Had I seen your invitation earlier, I'd have popped over (went out to lunch and Saturday Market). I have butter pats for your biscuits, neighbor.
