This was a speed challenge with shades of purple. We had 10 minutes to make a card. Mine took 8 minutes and 5 seconds. I figured out what I wanted to do, got all my supplies together then started my timer. I started by cutting all my paper. I stamped my sentiment on the lower right corner of my Whisper White panel first to help me judge where my grasses needed to go. After each full strength stamp I stamped a second time without reinking. Each time I stamped I altered the placement a little making it appear to be the edge of a pathway. I stamped the Rooster on a scrap then used the paint swatch stamp from Work of Art over top to add just a hint of color to him. I stamped it off twice first. I punched the rooster out with the circle punch then punched my scalloped circle out of the center of my Highland Heather layer. Then I started adhering my card layers together. I cut my strip of ribbon, folded it unevenly in half and snipped it into two then used glue dots to fasten it to my card front. I popped the rooster up on dimensionals, added my enamel shapes, trimmed the ends of the ribbon a little and I was done.

Great job, Eunice! I like the way you've stamped the grasses in the background and highlighted your rooster with the scallop frame. The ribbon tucked in behind him really makes him pop. Thanks for playing along with our speed challenge at As You See It - it's quite the challenge, isn't it? :-)

I love the way you've created depth in your background by stamping with different intensities of ink! And your little rooster is looking proud as the focal point! Gingham is always a great choice for background paper when you're doing a country theme! Thanks for playing along with our speed challenge!
