This card is for the Ways to Use It Challenge, WT752 - Getting Edgy - (08/08/19). The challenge was to focus on interesting edges on the card, for example sponging, tearing, doodling.
There are 3 edge elements on my card:
- torn edge
- sponged edges
- Stitched edge on die cut
The image on this card is one I pulled from my stash, already colored, with the outside edge torn. I sponged the edges with Memories Soft Wheat ink and popped it on to a Rectangle with die cut stitching on the edge. I did stamp a Woodgrain design on the rectangle, but the ink I used practically disappeared after it dried...note to self, next time wait for background ink to totally dry before mounting image on it! Ugh...it was really cool looking before the did the disappearing act.
The dry embossing of the brick design was done on the front flap of the card, and I inked the inside of the EF with the same disappearing ink that I used on the Woodgrain stamp. I should have gotten a hint about the faintness of the ink color from the name: Fairy Dust! It is really a fun color to use on white & natural cs, it just doesn't cut it on a deeper tone neutral.
I finished off the card with a tone-on-tone diecut sentiment and tiny heart, sponged with the same disappearing ink. Yes, I continued to use the same ink because everything else on the card was already glued down!
Thanks for popping by and looking at my edgy Feathered Hope birdie! Happy day to you!

I like torn edges, I just don't think of them very often. I love the soft colours of your card and the tone-on-tone sentiment. I'm sure the woodgrain would have looked great with the brick background.
