For several years, we here in California were in the grips of a terribly depressing drought. But last winter, all of that miraculously changed! We received record breaking levels of rain and snowfall all across the state. Many lakes that had nearly gone dry are full again. I just got back from Mammoth Lakes in the High Sierra a few weeks ago and was thrilled to see snow on mountains!
During Spring we experienced a wildflower SUPER BLOOM which made the national news. The wonderful town of Lake Elsinore had an explosion of wildflowers -- particularly the California Poppy. Hoards of out of town visitors would flood the area, snarling traffic just to see this rare miracle.
My card represents the memory of all of those gorgeous wildflowers that I was lucky enough to see and enjoy. I used distress inks for the background and gave it a spritz and a few extra drops of glimmer mist.
Enjoy!

I live in orange county and also enjoyed our fabulous super bloom and the huge butterfly migration. You captured the feel of the wildflowers perfectly with your lovely card. Such a pretty bg.

A beautiful card. I love your colorful distress ink background. Using the inks was a perfect way to make raindrops that is so in tune with the challenge. Happy California is now getting the rain and snowfall that was terribly needed.
