This card is for the Tuesday Teapotters and for Cheryl who is battling health issues at present.
Cheryl was one of the First Ladies to comment on my first post and has always been supportive and encouraging since then.
I love mixed media and have not made a mix card for some time. I started by putting gesso on my panel as a primer, added cotton twine and printed tissue paper to give some texture and then plonked on lots of colours and water....there are lots on there....a mix of Lindys Magicals (which were very sparkly) and Dylusions spray inks.
Once I was happy with the BG I did some stamping...there are 3 stamp sets on there. It was at this stage I had to think about what next. I knew I wanted flowers on there as Cheryl likes flowers.
Out came my wildflower stamps and after die cutting them I made a little bouquet. I was having a merry old time. I have another lightbulb moment and remembered I had bought a stack of chip boards a couple of years ago and only used a couple (it seems they are hiding in my craft room lol). I cut one, add gesso and ink but I am not happy with it so out comes the gold spray ink and anything else I can find. Plonk it on the panel...oh so much better and I am loving all this texture.
Flowers added...after adding gold wink of Stella...I wanted sparkly..... and it is at this stage I decide it needs butterflies. Some are cut out of an alcohol ink panel I had in my stash but they are lost on the BG, so out comes some gold CS. One added on top of an alcohol ink butterfly....and 3 butterflies and bling added.
After choosing my mat for my panel I decided to distress it and give it a shabby chic look...so we could say this card is a shabby mix lol.
It took me two evenings to make this card and it is late but it is now winging its way over the oceans to Cheryl. Sending her hugs and a speedy recovery.
TFL. Happy day

Jayne I feel like I was sitting right beside you while this FABULOUS, CREATIVE, ARTY, BRILLIANT card was coming to life. I didn't want your description to end! Cheryl is going to be over the moon when she receives this. For a while now I thought SCS should have a few new challenges...shabby mix has a perfect ring to it. Can you tell how much I love this my dear mate from the west.

A feast for the eyes, and a healing balm as well, Jayne! This is indeed a shabby mix. I love the wild abandon bg against the girlie pop of pink. All your texture adds such interest.
