Chris is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week. It's the last week in July, and the last week of our Christmas in July theme. The colors are Seaside Spray, Pool Party and Highland Heather. The dessert option is bling.
I'm just back from a wonderful week at the annual lacemakers convention, and I made this card oh, a few minutes ago! I discovered that it's possible to make a quick card that's also very pretty.
I took a piece of Bristol paper and some makeup brushes, and brushed on the Distress Oxide inks, blending them from my facsimile of Seaside Spray, to Pool Party to Highland Heather. Actually, the DO colors are Broken China, Tumbled Glass and Dusty Concord.
I splashed the panel with water, blotted with a paper towel, and then splattered some diluted white gouache onto the panel. I hope the effect looks like snow.
I die cut the snowflake pieces out of shimmery white paper and glued them in place. Then adhered that panel to a card base of Seaside Spray. I decided the shimmery white wasn't blingy enough, so I covered all the white with dabs of glue, and then sprinkled glitter over the whole card. I was successful in that the glitter stayed where I wanted it, but alas! it doesn't show up in the photo. Just imagine that all the white parts are glistening, OK?
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!

Gorgeous! Love the ink blended background. The sparkly die-cuts are fabulous. Love the special touches for the falling snow. Very nice! Excellent display of the challenge colors.
