Starting with an embossed vanilla panel, I started brushing antique linen on the cs, but it was either too light or dry or both, but I switched over to river rock to get better application. Next, I tried spun sugar, but again, too light so I went to picked raspberry, ahhh, success. My next color was aged mahogany, and lastly walnut stain. Next, I rubbed the embossing buddy all over the cs and then "stamped" the versamark pad all over. Then I heat embossed with the chocolate caramel pearl ep. I die cut the trees from the last bit of gold cardboard, stamped the tag in aged mahogany and punched and layered onto gold cs. I added a wisp of rose metallic thread around the tag. Vanilla is the base and the matte layer is purely pomegranate.

That rich textured background looks amazing - like scorched earth, which is a wonderful contrast to the trees which look green on my screen and I was going to say verdant, but then I re-read your description and realised that the gold must be picking up reflections from somewhere. Gold makes them even more Christmassy.

Beautiful textured bg and an ef I don't have! The combination of that rich bg and die cut gold trees is marvelous. Thanks for playing in my challenge, I'm impressed!

Thanks for all the details on how you made that gorgeous bg. This is just stunning. Such pretty, earthy colors, and not tge traditional Christmas coloirs. Lovely card.
