My card for Lydia's Mix the Moon Challenge is a little bit predictable. Of course I was going to get out my Tim Holtz grunge stencil--my favorite to make a moon. But I like it anyway. I started by digging through my backgrounds drawer and I found a shaving cream background that I thought would be cool to sponge some Distress Oxides over it. Then I spattered water and white paint. I took a die cut circle and brushed with the brush that had black ink on it and rubbed harder through the stencil. Then I splattered the moon with silver Wink of Stella for a bit of sparkle. I wanted this to be the third card for my sister-in-law's recovery from surgery, so I went online searching for a nice moon quote. I printed it out on dark gray paper (using a font called Luna) and traced over it with my embossing marker and embossed it in white. I hope she likes it. And lastly, I simply HAD to stage this photo with my moon landing commemorative glass. I bought it at an estate sale about 15 years ago, because it's awesome.
