Gosh, what a busy summer it's been for me...dog sitting, going up north, volunteering for events at our historic site, stamping, stamping and stamping. I'm guessing we all could add to the list. That said, I'm squeezing in three challenges. I'm heading out again today, until Tuesday.

MIX-THE MOON!!! I wish you could see how my moon shines, with the bottom layer being the silver.
I began my senior year in high school right after the moon landing. My family was up north at our cottage, watching the moon landing on a very grainy tv with poor reception. I remember thinking two things: I cannot for the life of me make out where Neil Armstrong is on that ladder and WHAT THE HECK WAS THE LAST WORD HE SAID??? I couldn't believe that it was all crackly. Are you kidding me?
I have always followed the space program with interest and awe. I have never seen a launch, but I guess, if you time it right, there are still launches happening. Certain launches, you remember exactly where you were. I've been watching a fair amount of PBS shows this week and there have been some photos and video I have never seen before. Wonderful! I think it's amazing we managed to get there so quickly. Interesting tidbit: the computers in our phones are more powerful than the computers used to manage that adventure.

Brilliant! That stamp is perfect! Love this. I remember all the coverage on TV when they'd show the live coverage and we'd be mesmerized. My siblings and I went out in our yard and looked up at the moon and said...that's where they are right now....it was amazing. Have a great weekend up north Jean.
Love this cool card and your memories! I was 13 and my dad worked for a company that supplied parts for the rockets -- my siblings and I were arm in arm around the TV shivering with excitement.

What a fabulous card to commemorate 50 years of the first landing on the moon. I remember it well and like you, the TVs of the day just were not cutting it at all. But, it happened and we were all part of the history in the making which is so cool! I am really impressed with this fabulous card you made and I am so digging this vintage stamp too! ~Karen.

Super stamp and great doodling around it. And a great write-up. I suspect that the microchips in our washing machines, even, are more powerful than what they had back then. My mental pictures of the moon landing are all in miniature, as it was one of the discs my brother had for his Viewmaster! Super card, Jean. From one dog-sitter to another...out in my aunt's cottage this weekend, with DH teasing me about my new shadow. I think he gets a little jealous.

Love this awesome card, Jean! I missed the moon landing but I do remember when stamps increased to 29 cents. LOL! Honestly, my first memory of the space program was watching the Challenger launch in my first grade classroom. But even that is fuzzy because we didn't really know what was going on. I'm sure our teachers shut off the TV pretty quickly and went on with the day. Can't wait to give this MIX challenge a try.
