I made this card for my brother for his upcoming birthday. He loves airplanes, so when I saw that navy paper with the airplane wireframe drawings from the Jack and Jill pad, I knew it would be perfect!
I used Operation Write Home's Sketch #206 for my design, since the smaller circle would be perfect to house the clock image I had. (I don't know where that stamp set came from though, so I have no clue what the name is.) I also thought I could add my greeting around the perimeter of the larger circle, using one of the templates for the MISTI I had downloaded through Maureen Wong's blog.
Curving the greeting wasn't too hard, thanks to the template. Keeping it from snapping back straight on my MISTI door was another matter, but I finally prevailed! I didn't have a circle die the exact size I needed, so I used a Spellbinders circle die, traced around the inner edge, and cut it out with scissors. I temporarily adhered it to the hexagon MISTI template, and used that to help me stamp it 3 times around my circle. I don't like the large-ish gap between each stamping, but I couldn't figure out in the heat of the moment how to fix it, so I just let it go.
I cut a scrap of triangle patterned paper to the size in the sketch, matted it with red & matted that with the same pale blue as I'd used for my greeting circle. I cut the airplane paper to 3-3/4x5", and matted it with Fog cardstock. I stamped the clock onto a scrap of white cardstock & die cut it with a "Nested Circles" die. I cut a piece of craft foam with the next smaller circle die, and adhered it to the back of my clock piece with Scor Tape. (Otherwise, the clock piece would have been "bumpy" from overlapping all the layers underneath.) I adhered all my pieces together, then mounted the finished panel to a white card base. This is probably the fastest card I've done yet for VSN--I had over 32 minutes left of my hour!

Nicely done on curving the sentiment. I have only done it once and I agree trying to keep it from snapping back is the real challenge. Love the clock face and wonderful papers too. I a sure your brother will love this. Thank you for rocking around the clock with us.
