The inspiration photo cried out for an alcohol ink background but I don't have any purple alcohol inks! I have mixed the blue and red alcohol inks that I have but am not a fan of the purple I get that way so...I went with the bokeh background technique. I sponged on my colors somewhat following the placement on the inspiration photo. After adding the bokeh circles, I really liked the panel and decided it looked somewhat northern lights like leading to the tree silhouettes. I matted it with silver mirror paper and added to a base of black and decided against a sentiment.
Thanks for the challenge, Chris!

This is GORGEOUS!!! Love how you did the bokeh effect. I had a similar idea for mine (have finished, but not posted yet). Great minds think alike, huh? I agree with leaving a greeting off--I think the imagery speaks volumes for itself. Tfs!

Gasp! Oh Catherine, this is sooo gorgeous! Your bokeh/Northern Lights bg is amazing and really highlights your wonderful treeline too. I am super impressed! ~Karen.
Wow! You are right, alcohol inks would look great but you did a fantastic job without them! I love your bokeh and I love the red! This is a show stopper!
