Today's challenge was to make a panel "out of our comfort zone" without use of stamps. This was an experiment that was also "out of my CONTROL" !
I happened to see a you tube video yesterday on something called a "Dutch Pour" - They used a 4 foot square canvas while I had a 4 inch piece of watercolor paper . . . . first I cover my piece with gesso - hoping that would help the paint glide. Then poured a line of each color watered down acrylic paint. I gave it the requisite quick blow with a hair dryer to get the paint moving but by then the paper had already buckled and warped causing deep valleys where the paint pooled in thick globs - definitely out of my control! But I could see that it continued to move (all through the 7 hour drying period) with different colors and shapes emerging over that time.
Fast Forward 7 hours . . . while there are STILL some damp spots on my piece I am hoping that if I'm quite careful, I can get it framed and onto my base card.
I finally decided on this Unity sentiment - stamped in Turquoise and colored in the rectangle with a yellow marker.
Thanks for checking out my "Out of my control" experiment.

Oh my gosh, Dutch Pour? Onto a 4 inch piece of WC paper? ACK!!! Do you also run with scissors? ....tee hee...love the artsy splashed look of your not-yet-dry masterpiece. I spotted what appeared to me as Dumbo, the flying elephant (who I loved dearly as a small child). His trunk is down, which in the elephant world is a sign of distress...I bet the hairdryer played a hand in this!
Fun card - I especially like how you used yellow in the sentiment, it ties in beautifully with the yellow in your pour.
