For the Tea Party this week we were asked to use a "face" when making a card. Well - this has just about been the undoing of me - stamped up a lot of images - but was not happy with any of them. Tried out lots of layouts, design papers, inks and there was lots of fiddling around - not producing anything respectable but making a huge mess on my dining table.
I really love this image of the little girl - so sweet and very vintage. I have framed her with some soft gold card and layered her up on to the green panel framed with a very nice border die from Gina Marie. Added the sentiment.
I am still not really happy with this card - vintage was escaping me all the time - but anyway - this will be my card for the Tea Party - unless I am hit with a huge bolt from above and my mojo returns.
Honestly - her eyes are not that piercingly blue in real life (he he).
Hope you enjoy.

You have made a truly gorgeous card for the Teapot party Helen. I was nodding my head reading about your journey to making this card because I went through much the same thing. I am not good with humans/faces so this was a real challenge for me too. But look at the gorgeous card you made and one to be very proud of too! Hugs! ~Karen.

Helen, this is a beautiful vintage girl image, she looks a little like a young Shirley Temple. You have made a lovely vintage style card with the pretty dp and green framing!

Helen...I get your struggle, breath and smile. Thank you for sharing your design journey with us...personally those things make us all better artists!
That face is like looking in a mirror...it is so piercing. And how you layered layers upon layers is just as our layers of life. A great way to create depth! The patterned bg is gorgeous and the way you tied the greens of the frame with the drape around her shoulders is fab.
This card is outstanding.
