One option for today's MIX challenge was to use chalks with stencils (since I don't own a gel plate). I actually use chalks quite often for my bg's but I did find that when using them with a stencil, I had to use the DARKEST colors in the palette to get the look I wanted (whereas the pastel colors work best for me when doing other bg's)
I stamped my gal on scrap stock with Gina K amalgam ink - colored with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with gamsol. Added the tiniest white Nuvo drops to her pearl necklace , Medallion and button on the purse - set aside to dry.
Using a cotton ball, I rubbed chalk through a TH clockworks stencil (darkest brown, Burnt Umber and Dark forest green) The nice thing about chalks is if you get it where you don't want it, it can be erased with a white magic artist's eraser. I decided to edge my stenciled piece with a gold Metallic Paint pen and promptly Spattered gold paint all down the front of my nightgown - OH WELL - the foibles of crafting . . .
Stamped my Sentiment and embossed with clear powder. Inked up my Unity gal and stamped it onto my stencil works to set the bg & small details that will be cut away from my fussy cut colored image. OOPS! too late I realized I had grabbed the bottle green cube instead of the black. So green flyaway frizzy curls it will be - Adhered my fussy cut image over the stamped one and finished with WHITE Nuvo drops on her earrings . . . which promptly sucked up the color from the bg ink and turned GREEN . . .SIGH . . .
This will go to a friend who is turning 73 years young. The Inside says: "Happy 29th birthday from your 100 lb friend!"

Hahaha, this is so funny and so true! A few years ago I actually thought I was a whole year older than I really was which was really awesome when I discovered I was wrong

I have that inside sentiment!!! It's a hoot...the only problem was I had to explain it to my friend. Sheesh. What a super creation!!! I always have loved chalks and your background is wonderful.
