This is for Robin's fun F4A challenge. What a better way to spend a summers day than laughing with a gal pal, sand between your toes and a few little drinkies.
This card started out life as a 5"x 7" and the entire scene was coloured on copy paper but the sky and the water looked really dodgy.
When ever I colour outside the lines, I just draw a new line - I basically applied the same principle here, I just lopped off the bits I didn't like and created a new size.
To make the fussy cutting a bit easier I just fussy cut everything above the sand line. I then hunted through my stash of backgrounds until I found the right match.
To make the clouds I put a bit of water on a cloth and rubbed a patch of blue until the white core of the background cardstock showed through. I did this before I adhered the girls to the background in case it didn't work.
The chairs are coloured with pencils and a Copic. All the pink colouring is just one pencil, Zest it pencil blend and differing amounts of pressure on the pencil.
As always I gently wiped a "pre stained" walnut stain distress ink foam blending tool over the entire image. It really does make a difference.
When I was getting ready to photograph this, I noticed a dirty mark on Rightie's leg....yep, I added to the mess and gave her a few scars, she looks the adventurous type.
Thanks very much for looking and I hope you get a chance to join in.

i too thought they might have not shaved...or it was sand stuck to their legs because of the sun screen. I'm sure tired of shaving my legs. Anywho, this is priceless, silly, fun, crazy, just like the artist, I imagine. So nice to have you back, but I do envy you your trips that you take. never had that lifestyle.

Susie, you are amazing! What an awesome scene and what a great adventure you had making this card. Your cards always tell such an interesting story. One of the first things I noticed was the scars. How clever!

OMG - These gals are priceless in and of themselves but the "hairy" legs are a hoot, too. Fantastic Save on the image with the upper fussy cutting and I love the "in & out" of the frame you were able to achieve with that save.

These gals look like they have really had some fun summer adventures! Or the knee replacement surgery that a friend of mine is having next week. I'm hoping I don't get that adventurous! This is a fun scene.

Love the scars, Susie....made me giggle. These ladies appear to be having a blast probably reminiscing about days gone by...Lovely coloring to make this quite realistic~

Oh, Susie, thanks for the chuckle!! Your cards are always so creative and wonderful. I love the beach ladies on this card and Rightie's scared leg; poor lady! You're too much, Susie! Your coloring is always striking and I am amazed at how well you do by coloring on copier paper! You're just a great artist, Susie! Big hugs!

OH ya those senior beach babes are a hoot! I love all the details..they're perfect...I think rightie is a biker babe and that's how she got her scar (in that case where's her tattoo). I'm going to copy your correcting a mistake technique...just cut if off...or draw a new line....love it! Those little drinkie poos look very inviting (and it's only 8am here!) A brilliant summer scene ;)
