I made this card for last week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge. Susie Australia is back with a fantastic challenge of Sunrise Sunset. I LOVE sunflowers, but for the life of me, I could not come up with a card to make. Then I was going through Michelle's (MFB) Featured Stamper gallery and came across this fabulous card I simply had to case: Altenew May Challenge 3 by mfb at Splitcoaststampers. What I was drawn to most on Michelle's card was the gorgeous sponging she did and how that highlighted her stunning blooms. I used a square die to sponge color into the area. Then stamped and die cut the sunflower and leaf and colored with copic markers. I love this sentiment from the SU Lasting Lily set and hope Bob and Tracy do too. I purposely kept this very CAS so no added embellishments of any kind. For me, losing a loved one means "getting back to the basics" and that for me is simplicity. Thank you Michelle for your help in getting this card created for the Teapot Tuesday challenge. Your gallery is absolutely stunning and you are so deserving of this honor too. Enjoy your well-deserved week in the spotlight! Hugs! ~Karen.

Sunflowers are what I call Gods flowers as I do not need to plant them as the birds do it for me dropping the seed and they just grow so big. You did great job on your card with the coloring and sponging and neat sentiment

Oh, such a wonderful case of Michelle's pretty card. I too, love the blue sponged sky behind your gorgeous sunflower. Beautiful copic coloring! Love what you posted about this!
Aww... thanks so much Karen!! Glad you found a starting point for your gorgeous card. You get to bless both me and their family. You really did an awesome job capturing the beauty of your sunflower. The sponging reminds me of a beautiful day. And, the contrast between the two is so eye-catching! Thank you for all of your continued kind words and support!
