This is for the Crafters of Faith Challenge here on SCS. Our hostess for June is Michelle ~ mybearybest. She selected the verse: 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, behold the new has come.
Michelle's challenge: feature butterflies
I used a new stamp set that Michelle sent me when we were Baker's Dozen Swap partners. Thank you Michelle! I had the idea to create a sky full of butterflies. It didn't quite turn out as I had planned, but I went with it. On watercolor paper, I heat embossed the butterfly multiple times in clear powder (maybe should have used white) and then I loosely watercolored in bright colors using a blue around the butterflies for the sky. I stamped some splatter as it looked too plain and to create a little movement. I used my new dies from Poppystamps. I love the scallop stitched edge on the frame and how the die cuts a rectangle that fits back into the frame. The stamp set had Michelle's verse so I stamped and matted it and then popped it up in the middle. Thanks Michelle for an inspiring challenge! TFL

What a beautiful background you created! I love how every butterfly is a unique color mix and the speckles that you added. How perfect that this verse and butterflies were in one of the sets I sent to you and what a joy to see a card you designed using it! Blessings to you, my friend!

Love that double-stitched edging...it works to well with your elegant butterfly background stamping...colors are soft and beautiful! Lovely Bible verse!

Wowza! I absolutely LOVE this! I rarely use the emboss/watercolor technique, but it gives such a soft look. I should try it again..soon!
